The Center for Ocean Solutions works with major problems facing the ocean and prepares leaders to take on these challenges. Coastal and ocean systems are facing threats from land and ocean-based activities and climate change. These threatened ecosystems provide benefits to human societies such as fisheries, infrastructure, water quality and much more, making ecosystem health a human wellness issue. They hope to address issues of ecosystem health in tandem with human wellness by facilitating interdisciplinary research and discussion among those who have a stake in the ocean and making our findings widely available. They also hope to produce leaders in science and policy who can effectively problem-solve and act to solve these problems. To fulfill their mission, they draw on a pool of more than 80 scholars in the natural, physical and social sciences and collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders from organizations in the academic, governmental, non-profit and for profit realms. They aim to make our projects inclusive and to equitably represent those whom their solutions affect. Learn more about the Center for Ocean Solutions here.
