Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
I am an active outsoors person and love to hike. Save our viewshed!

I have been hiking the White Mountains for many years and both my daughter and granddaughter are now enjoying the fabulous wilderness with me. I wish to see the beauty and remoteness of these mountains preserved for the foreseeable future.

I've been coming to NH for over 40 years. I own property and plan to retire there. Its rugged beauty is like nowhere else I've ever seen (including the Alps). Erecting high-voltage towers when there are reasonable alternatives would be a travesty.

I've been a NH Plant Conservation Volunteer for the last 12 years, working to preserve heritage species, mostly in northern NH, an area that would be heavily impacted by Northern Pass. Please act to require the project to modify its plans, or to stop it.

Ask what the effect would be on our maple trees- which supports our maple syrup industry and our fall colors, 2nd most vivid in the world. Fall is our biggest tourist season for hospitality industry in Northern NH.
