Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
I am also a property owner in Tamworth NH, a frequent user of the White Mountains. Once we destroy the scenic qualities that make New Hampshire so special, we can never get them back. Please bury the power line like you do everywhere else.

I grew up in New England and spent a lot of time in NH while going to school and teaching in the Boston area. New Hampshire is a special place to me and I am opposed to seeing it defaced by this powerline.

The new lines need to be buried in order to avoid the visual impacts that goes along with the 80' high proposed towers. New Hampshire is a beautiful state and that beauty needs to be preserved.

I own a condo at the Owl's Nest and the towers would go right through the golf course. They would make it so ugly, not to mention what the rest of our beautiful state will look like!
