We applaud your efforts to date to defend New Hampshire's natural and cultural heritage from the proposed Northern Pass transmission line. Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
We are avid hikers in the White Mt region, it is a special region and should be preserved. There are alternatives ... find one.

Because if we allow little bits and pieces to chipped away from our beautiful wild places eventually they'll be gone. We won't realize it until it's too late.

It's all about the scenic beauty here; our quality of life, the tourism that supports so many of us, the legacy we leave our children, Please do all you can to stand up to the profiteering and protect our right to clean air and views.

Present generations appreciate the natural beauty of NH. Let's help preserve it for future generations. Bury the lines.

There is absolutely no reason to ruin our landscape with other people's wires.

Our forests, our animals, our citizens need to be protected from the dire consequences of these transmission lines.
Please do not allow Northern Pass unless it is buried.
Thank you ! Jan Dugan

Our public lands are being eroded, fracked and innumerable other destructive activities are sneaking by. We need to keep NH's beauty intact!

I chose to move to NH for its beauty and it takes some sacrifice. We are a tourism state and have a special beauty

It is short sighted, environmentally disastrous. If it MUST be done, Bury it!

It's time that appropriate planning for power routing using modern technologies to bury lines in defined corridors be done to mitigate environmental, economic and quality of life issues.

i moved here for beautiful trees, forests, vistas whatever you want to call it -- northern pass will destroy not just the views but commerce! this region is tourism dependent, you will kill it

Bury the Northern Pass. As proposed it is a scar on the NH landscape unnecessary for Nh, and at heart a desecration of the Quebec landscape , ruining native habitat. If it mustb happen to us, BURY IT. Martha W. Chandler

New Hampshire's economy and quality of life depend on keeping our state in a natural and pristine condition. Buried power lines can be done and both groups can benefit from that option.

We love NH! My ancestors there go back to the early 18th century. I spent so much time in NH growing up it is like a second home. We go back as often as possible to enjoy the natural beauty. This is a great natural resource which we hate to see spoiled

NH's North Country is a treasure to all of the Northeast. Northern Pass would be a permanent incursion. It needs to be buried or stopped.

There is so little wild space left in this country and we must preserve it for future generations.

Gov. Hassan - Please do not trade our children's heritage for the promise of some short-term jobs. Insist that the lines be buried at a minimum - New Hampshire deserves better than second class treatment.

I'm not from your state, but I know its beauty...please stop any power transmissiion line through you beautiful mountains!
