We applaud your efforts to date to defend New Hampshire's natural and cultural heritage from the proposed Northern Pass transmission line. Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
The Northern Pass project isn't about clean, reliable, low cost energy. The Northern Pass project is about one thing and one thing only - MONEY. The Northern Pass project isn't about NH's future. The Northern Pass project is about NU's future profits.

I love the White Mountains and it would break my heart to see the beautiful scenery marred by these towers. PSNH can afford to bury the lines. They have the money!

There are too few unspoiled places left in the world. Please keep the White Mountains as beautiful and pristine as possible.

We need to think beyond today and look far into the future. What we allow to happen now will be felt for generations to come. If we don't preserve these places today, what will be left for them? When will it stop?
Tom Poirierabout 11 years ago Concord NH
If towers go up, we can't reverse it. BURY the lines and do it Right the first time. Corporate profits will be spent but they'll make it back. Seriously, who will complain about transmission lines they can't see ? BURY the lines OR bury the Project !

Let's preserve the true New Hampshire advantage: our people; our land--and let's not cave to out-of-state interests that do not serve our people and our way of life.

I am a member of the AMC and frequent visitor of the White Mountains National Park. This is a precious resource and putting a line would be a terrible mistake. There are ways to get power from Quebec without scarring the landscape like this.

Five generations of my family have vacationed and own property in the wonderful wilderness area. We owe this to future generations!

Please don't destroy the natural beauty of the white mountains with this project!

It would ruin our beautiful mountains.
Bury it!!!!!!!!!
Tina Marconiabout 11 years ago wolfeboro falls NH
It needs to be stopped because NH will NOT benefit in ANY way from this and it will RUIN the land. No, it CANNOT be buried without wrecking the land, either! p

Because each state and territory has its own unique display of natural wonders, and this is ours. It is important to preserve the diversity of our country's wilds, and it is every citizen's right to defend that diversity.

this is wrong for the people. will hurt tourism, harm to life and habitat. does nothing for citizens, the people pushing this repeatedly this is about greed and profit. to a company who has been pillaging the people for decades.

I love taking my daughter into the mountains for the amazing beauty that can be seen there.
These views are something that belongs to all of us. It is downright criminal to destroy that for the profits of a Canadian power company.

Private interest should not come at the expense of public concerns. Burying visual trash is quite feasible and should be a requirement for all such projects!

I want to be able to go on my summer hikes without seeing 100+ foot tall towers. As it is, the current towers are too high.

NH is about the mountains and lakes. This beautiful state with its breath taken views would forever be ruined!
Please, this really should not be an option!

This project is all about greed. The northern region does not/will not benefit from this project. About the only positive thing left in the North Country is our NATURAL resources. Let us not destroy this for the almighty dollar!! '

I advocate the option to bury the transmission line. We must show that the demands of our modern society can be fulfilled without destroying our natural treasures.
