Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
The beauty of the North Country is important to me, and draws visitors form all over the country and the world. Let's not ruin it for future generations by creating a scar across the landscape. Either bury it or go away!

Ilived in NH for 25 years and still work there. I have land in NH. I look out my window across the Conn. River into NH and enjoy it's beauty every day in spite of the four separate power lines in view. Let us not destroy it further .

NH should not suffer the great loss of scenic capital, so important for tourism, in order to pass power on to Southern New England. The touted job creation is peanuts as planned; burying the lines will create more jobs and do less damage to the NH economy.

I have seen the transmission towers from the MAnicougan River hydro dams in Quebec and am horrified at the prospect of seeing these huge ugly towers in our beautiful NH countryside. Please bury the wires.
