Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
I'd like to hear about the alternatives – e.g., burying the lines – to the Northern Pass idea as it's currently been proposed. We should at least consider burying or diverting any portion of the lines that traverse state or national parks.

Just the talk of this project has destroyed our property values. Real estate agents are refusing to list houses along the proposes route from fear of being sued if it is built. Need power in Massachusetts, build Cape Wind first then let's see.

Protect the majestic and historic White Mountains. NH is already a net exporter of electricity to the New England power grid and needs to STOP being the stomping grounds for all of the new energy projects in the region. STOP Northern Pass

This is important to me because the white mountains are my most favorite place in the country to hike. I have grown up here hiking and it would be unpleasant to have to see large steel towers and taking away from natures beauty.
