Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
This project is going to be a huge detriment to one of the greatest resources that the North Country depend upon (tourism). This is an irresponsible plan. Reject this project as currently proposed! Bury it!

Growing up in the north country of New Hampshire taught me how to appreciate our beautiful state. It's important that we save our forests. There are much better ways to deliver power that don't include towering eye-sores. Stop or Bury Northern Pass!

I am definitely against the Northern Pass project because it would spoil the natural beauty of Scenic New Hampshire. I live in Deerfield, NH and have a camp in Clarksville, NH. Both would be negatively impacted by the power lines.

The current burial plan puts it in the roadbed a few feet above my well housing and between my water supply and my well. A private foreign non-green company must be stopped from destroying what's left of northern NH economy.
