Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
I want to preserve the wild, natural beauty of New Hampshire for my daughters to enjoy!

I grew up in NH & spent a lot of time up north. It will destroy the local economy, & wildlife; infringing on territory, migration routes. This is not going to benefit NH people, it will only benefit Hydro-Quebec and the power companies.

With my dying breathe... I will not support, and will actively oppose, the Northern Pass if it is not BURIED UNDERGROUND! I will watch all politician's vote on this issue and take action to stop reelections or elections of those who vote for it!

If not all buried, this will hurt the regional economy, cost jobs, and actually increase property taxes. It is also a huge waste of energy, perhaps 25% - 35% of all the power transmitted by DC will be lost as heat, possibly affecting our climate.

The North County economy is in tatters, and tourism - including ecotourism is one of the few options that could provide an increase in employment. Do not despoil our landscape with towers or other scars. Bury the lines along existing traffic corridors.

There is nothing attractive about power lines. It is the rugged natural beauty and long time residents of this state that make it special. We need to learn from past mistakes and not rush into plans that negatively affect the quality and beauty of life.
