We applaud your efforts to date to defend New Hampshire's natural and cultural heritage from the proposed Northern Pass transmission line. Please join us in making sure that our children and grandchildren can pass this vital heritage on to their children and grandchildren. Please ask Northeast Utilities and Hydro-Québec either to bury the entire project in New Hampshire or stop it altogether.
Everywhere we look we see proposals for new high-voltage, direct current transmission lines. In Maine, Vermont, and New York, new north-south high-voltage direct-current lines are being proposed completely underground or underwater; even Hydro-Québec itself is advancing an underground transmission project to connect with New York. Everywhere we look we see new, innovative underground transmission technology proposals. Everywhere except New Hampshire.
Governor Hassan, before you host the New England Governors and the Eastern Canadian Premiers here in New Hampshire this July, please make it clear that New Hampshire welcomes each of them to our magnificent state. But please also convey the message that we will insist on smart, well-planned energy projects that advance a clean energy future and we will not welcome any overhead extension cords like Northern Pass that provide little benefit to the state, at the expense of our natural and scenic resources.
We need all the beautiful and uplifting sights that we can still preserve.

Trees not tower is a great way to protect our great states natural beauty. For wild life and tourist benefits.

I moved her for the sheer beauty the North country has to offer, I didn't ask nor need for powerlines (that could be buried by the way) to destroy our landscape to feed power to someone else, leave our land alone.

Preserve NH's beauty. Once it is gone, it is gone forever. DO NOT let foreign companies come in and destroy the quality of our state for personal profit.

We must preserve the natural beauty of NH and the wildlife and farms and economy that depend on it.

This is one of our favorite places to go for pristine mountain experiences. It would be tragic to disturb it.

It is important to preserve the natural visual beauty of this protected area for future generations. There is no going back.

We need to PROTECT our GREATEST Natural & Scenic Resources. High Voltage damages the quality of life.Bury or STOP the Northern Pass.

This area is a national treasure and the Northern Pass threatens the integrity of the area and will result in loss of visitor spending. Alternative energy plans should be explored before this extreme and irreversible measure is implemented.

NH is a very special place. If we don't care for its beauty, its vistas, its unspoiled open spaces, it will become like every other place people try to escape

The proposed rte is right across the street from my house, there are 11 homes on our street that are less than 10 years old and all are unsellable.

I have spent parts of many summers from 1945, on, with my cousins, my wife, friends, my children in Northern New England, and I would hate to see the WMNF further marred by transmission towers.

I go to the whites in NH just to enjoy the wilderness, hike, and relax. Don't take away the beauty that's still in NH.

My property is close to the proposed pathway. We need to sell to move to a retirement community. No one will consider my property as Northern Pass has stopped all interest.

Native of Colebrook, NH. Frightening to contemplate destroying environments and local tourism economy when other alternatives (existing lines or underground) are available

We are the stewards of the magnificent scenic vistas that our state offers. Let's exercise our responsibility by preserving those vistas for future generations.

Are you kidding? Not only do i want to save New Hampshire from ugliness and economic costs, i want to help love this planet. She is the only thing between us and extinction.

We often travel to New Hampshire for recreation and would be disappointed to see scenery ruined unnecessarily. More efforts should be made to conserve energy and to thus avoid transporting energy over long distances.

I lived in the White Mountains and climbed them all and am horrified at the plans for Northern Pass. I am so glad that AMC and Society for the Protection are working so hard to avoid this calamity.
