Sally Snow's "Future" Campaign Takes Off

Action Grantee Sally Snow has launched her campaign Their Future, Our Future in the Philippines.  The campaign - which will include a 5-part video series - by LAMVAE, the Large Marine Vertebrate Research Institute Philippines, supports the passing of a new marine wildlife interaction law in the Philippines to educate locals and tourists about respectful wildlife interaction.

To start the campaign, Sally presented as a marine conservation speaker at ADEX (Asia's Large Diving Expo) - which took place over 3 days (April 15-17) at Suntec Singamore.  During the course of the weekend Sally presented on two issues: 1) “Sustainable Tourism – The Power to Protect” and 2) “Citizen Science, diving tourism and the power to protect” alongside LAMAVE Executive Director Dr Alessandro Ponzo.  Sally spoke championing the local sustainable wildlife tourism communities and emphasized how everyone has the #powertoprotectPH.   ADEX is the longest running and largest dive expo in Asia.  Sally's presentations reached a massive audience - a total of 57,793 people attended ADEX in 2016 - the highest number of attendees in the history of ADEX with the numbers nearly tripling since 2010.

Their Future, Our Future has also launched their Facebook page as a supplement to support their mission and garner support from their community and beyond.  Filipinos and international tourists will be encouraged to post statement photographs on this website.

Previously called My Future is Your Future the campaign slogan shifted due to local response and feedback.

CMG met Sally through our Action Grant pitch session at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival.  Her project was one of eight finalists chosen to pitch and was selected as one of three winners.  CMG awarded Their Future, Our Future a $10,000 grant to cover necessary production and distribution costs.
